Elena Tonra of Daughter is back as Ex:Re with another new single. Much like "Radio Station" a few weeks back, "Sleep" is a bit dreamy, though certainly full of energy too. The live video for this one is our Video of the Week here this week.
"Sleep" bobs and weaves around Elena's voice. She both commands things, and slips into the groove. While her vocals certainly entrance, the percussion keeps this moving forward with a real intense energy. The combination of vocals and drums keeps "Sleep" from being too dream-pop, and this remains a nicely visceral cut.
Save As by Ex:Re will be out on October 30. Details via 4AD.
