The best song with whistling since "Generals & Majors" by XTC, the new single from Railcard is something special this week. "Two Steps at a Time" from the band fronted by Rachel Love (Dolly Mixture) is the first track from the group's upcoming album of the same name, and it's delightful.
Following earlier singles from their EP collection, Railcard are now prepping their first long-player. Rachel Love, joined by Ian Button (Papernut Cambridge, The Penrose Web, Swansea Sound), Peter Momtchiloff (Heavenly, The Would-Be-Goods), and Allison Thomson on trumpet, make this sort of very British indie timeless. The song and the video have an appeal that is hard to deny, and it's so light and catchy as to be wonderfully endearing.
