I thought this band broke up? I remember some social media posts alluding to that fact a few years ago. Regardless, the return of Real Numbers is something to celebrate, especially since it's been five years since their last fine effort on Slubmerland Records.
A new record called Was It Always This Way has been announced for August. The lead single "Never Never Again" is here now and it's pure goodness. Echoing The Field Mice in a big way, Real Numbers make jangle-pop that's similar to past legends, but also neatly modern and American. This song makes me want to get down my Real Numbers albums and fall in love with them all over again while I wait for the new record in two months. This is wonderful stuff, folks!
