It feels like we were slightly ahead of the hype curve on Westside Cowboy here. The Manchester band's rise has been fast, and there's certainly a real buzz about the band. And yet it's not even been a full year since the group's first EP earned raves here.
Announcing a new EP with a new single, the four-piece are only poised for more great things. It Goes On will be out in August but the lead single is here today. "Kick Stones (The Boys)" rambles with a hook that's like The Velvet Underground, as well as fellow Mancunians The Fall. Making a wonderful racket in the manner of site faves like Yatsura, Spinning Coin, and Pavement, Westside Cowboy continue to impress. This one is just great, and the video for "Kick Stones (The Boys)" is redolent with real footie appeal too. And with myself and other contributors here being big fans, you can rightly expect more Westside Cowboy posts going forward ahead of the new album coming out.
