TRACK OF THE WEEK: "Powder Keg" By Clémentine March

London-based French singer Clémentine March is sneaking up on us with this one. In December, when everyone is busy doing year-end lists (including us here), we've got a really great new single to cover.

"Powder Keg" is the title track from Clémentine March's new album, out in early January 2026. The cut is both lush and complicated. There are hints of Beefheart and Tom Waits in the horns and background clatter, even as the vocals and central melody are gorgeous. Fans of bands like A Girl Called Eddy, late period Cardigans, and Cardinal should find this really a rewarding piece of music. With contributions from Naima Block, Alabaster DePlume, and others, Powder Keg is a record you will not want to miss next year.

Powder Keg by Clémentine March will be out on January 9. Details below on Bandcamp. The current single and video are out now.
