The Would-Be-Goods are back! Jessica Griffin and crew made some lovely music in the past, for a variety of legendary labels, and now they're back with a new song, and news of a new record on the superb Skep Wax imprint.
"The Gallopers" is both lilting and bittersweet, like the best from this band. The tune marries a playful hook with Jessica's wistful vocals. If you've heard anything from The Would-Be-Goods before, you know just how special their music can be. And this is no exception. Jessica Griffin is joined here by Peter Momtchiloff (Heavenly, Talulah Gosh) on guitar, Debbie Greensmith (Thee Headcoatees and many others) on drums, and Andy Warren (The Monochrome Set, Adam and the Ants) on bass. The video was edited by Ian Button (Swansea Sound).
"The Gallopers" by The Would-Be-Goods is out now. Tears Before Bedtime will be out in February. Details via Skep Wax.
