In advance of their UK tour starting at the end of this month, The Catenary Wires and poet Brian Bilston have shared a lovely video for perhaps my favorite track on their album, Sounds Made By Humans. "Might Have, Might Not Have" is a number I described as sounding like McCarthy when I ran my review of the record. And I still stand by that. It's got that same momentum that the best McCarthy tracks had, but a lot of heart thanks to Bilston's words and coos from Amelia Fletcher. The whole album is certainly something you should check out, and the effort stands as an impressive mingling of poetry and music with Rob Pursey and Amelia Fletcher from The Catenary Wires joining Brian Bilston to set his poems to life as songs.
In other news related to Rob and Amelia, Heavenly are returning to these shores next year and that's tremendous news. Given this, and the fact that the band released a super single earlier in the summer, I'm hopeful that the group will release a new full-length record in the future. Let's hope so.
Sounds Made By Humans by Brian Bilston and The Catenary Wires is out now via Skep Wax. Details on Bandcamp via the link below too.
