TRACK OF THE WEEK: "It's A Dog's Breakfast (For LR)" By The Paranoid Style (The Mountain Goats, Wussy)

Writer Elizabeth Nelson knows a lot about rock. And, in a rare instance in the music world, she knows how to make it too. While prepping her new album with The Paranoid Style, she's dropped another cool single, this one a tribute to Linda Ronstadt.

Elizabeth Nelson explains a bit:

"So, I wrote this song for Linda Ronstadt, whom I love so much. It's called 'It's a Dog's Breakfast.' That's a Britishism for a hot mess, but it's my favorite track I have ever recorded with the Paranoid Style, with killer additions by Lisa Walker from Wussy and Matt Douglas from the Mountain Goats. I never travel far without a little LR."

The track sounds a little like Linda Ronstadt, yeah, but also a little like the bands Elizabeth Nelson loves so well, like The Replacements and Paul Westerberg. Nelson's writings on the 'Mats earned her some worthy praise, but this upcoming record from The Paranoid Style is likely to do even more for her.

"It's a Dog's Breakfast (For LR)" by The Paranoid Style is out now via Bar/None Records. Known Associates will be out right before Valentine's Day next year.
