This one was co-written by the late Allee Willis, and in fact is likely the last song she ever wrote. Ben's friendship with Allee lead to this unlikely teaming up of dream pop rockers with the songwriter behind "September" for Earth, Wind and Fire, and countless other hits. I'll let Ben add a few words.
"I met Allee Willis at her famed house "Willis Wonderland" in Valley Village, CA in August. 2019. I was there because I came along to help out on a documentary film shoot for an interview that Allee was doing about her songs in the 1986 film Howard the Duck. The documentary is called Howard the Doc: Or How I Learned to Start Quacking and Love the Bomb. My pal Ernie Trinidad directed that documentary (it's coming out later this year), and I am scoring the music for it. And Allee and I quickly became fast friends because we’re both vintage pop culture nerds.
Allee and I wound up planning a date to meet up and write a song together, and we had two writing sessions. Sadly, she passed away days after our second writing session. My band Modern Time Machines put the song on hold for awhile, but we finally finished it this year."
