Jack Wolter is taking a detour from his main band Penelope Isles. That outfit is still very much together, but Jack's doing a new thing now called Cubzoa. The first single, featuring Nanna Schannong of Lowly is very impressive indeed.
"Choke" works its way into a groove with a personal vibe. The feeling here is not unlike recent stellar efforts from Youth Lagoon. Jack and Nanna keep this one moving, and while the tune is intimate, it's also fairly catchy and direct. I dig it a lot!
