It's almost impossible not to love this. As the heat the summer comes and goes, and the long days get a little shorter each day, there's a need to chill out and savor the season before it's gone. The first single from the new Teenage Fanclub album just might do the trick of being the perfect soundtrack for late July.
"Day in the Sun" is simple and affecting, with the warm hooks of the tune sure to get any indie fan's feet to tapping. The video, with the group grooving in the studio, is simple and direct, and a pleasant diversion. This long-time fan is so glad to see Euros Childs (Gorky's Zygotic Mynci) in the band full-time now, and his work with the Fannies Norman Blake is something we've long loved here. Dig this one, get ready for more singles, and pre-order the new record, Do Not Dare To Dream now.
