I'm generally of the mindset that folks shouldn't mess with Joy Division; it's nearly sacred stuff, no? However, when Bonner Kramer (FKA Kramer of Bongwater, and famed producer) teams up with Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) to have a go at a Joy Division classic, I'm all ears.
The duo's take on "Insight" is elegiac, and haunting. The track unfurls at a slower pace, though a rush of guitars keeps this as energetic as the original. This is really a wonderful piece of music and you'll hear more like this on the duo's upcoming album in May. Details via Bandcamp.
