VIDEO OF THE WEEK: "Running From Home" By Polyvinyl

Newcastle outfit Polyvinyl favor a big sound. Their new song "Running from Home" is both radio-friendly, and rich with the sort of flavors that UK indie once favored. Which is to say that this cut's got throwback appeal of a sort that makes it really catchy and likeable.

Earning comparisons to Wolf Alice and Alvvays, the music of Polyvinyl has a yearning quality about it and a big wall of sound style. It's indie, but close in spirit to seminal stuff like Sleeper and Garbage in the way the track soars in a very radio-ready way even though it's coming from DIY origins. It's catchy as hell too, and that counts for a lot around here.

I can't wait to hear more from this band soon, and they've got music in the works which was produced by Lisa Murphy (Melanie Baker, Lizzie Esau), mixed by Paul Gregory (Lanterns on the Lake, Mercury Prize Nominee), and mastered by Katie Tavini (Bloc Party, We Are Scientists). How about those credentials? For now, crank this one up and sing along with it!
