Legendary indie outfit Boyracer are back with a fine new holiday-themed EP. Melt the Snow, out now, is a trio of rollicking and heartfelt fuzz-pop gems in line with this group's sonic heritage. These tunes are sure to melt the snow around your heart, is what I'm saying.
Opener "I Love Christmas Time" roars out of the gate, with guitars crunching and all that. "Festive Trip" finds Christina Riley taking lead duties in a tune filled with nimble hooks. Closer "Lonely This Christmas" mixes squalls of feedback with Spector-ish sonics. I love it!
Veterans of seminal imprints like Sarah Records, and Slumberland Records, Boyracer make music which reinvigorates. Cranking out tracks that are all the best things about DIY pop wrapped up tight, Boyracer make even this Grinch's heart grow a little bigger this Christmas season.
