This is a special single, one which is also accessible enough to please those outside of the realms of indie.
Mina Tindle (partner of Bryce Dessner of The National) has teamed up again with Sufjan Stevens for "Heaven Thunder", a new tune out this week via French label S76.
The song may earn comparisons to "Don't Give Up" from Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush, with the interweaving vocals and electronic textures the reasons why. And it may also cause a listener to reach back again for points of comparison like Tori Amos and Sarah McLachlan as Mina's voice is just that lovely. The synths and rhythms anchor this and keep things energetic enough under the swaying voices.
