We are in paradise, Paradise Island Resort on Samal Island, to be exact.
And for a fraction of the costs of what such a thing would cost us in the US, or the Caribbean, we got two deluxe rooms near the beach. The free Wi-Fi is unsecure but it's working at the moment...at least when I'm sitting out on the terrace.
But first, a trip to Shakey's Pizza! I spent most of my birthday parties when I was a kid at Shakey's and Farrell's so I was thrilled to see that Shakey's is a franchise that is thriving here in the Philippines.
We got too much food but there were 5 of us so we made a pretty good dent in this spread. And we took the rest home with us.
And, of course, Jollibee is everywhere too!
Home for the next 2 days is going to be Paradise Island Resort on Samal Island.
And Jet Li on the TV! Could life get any better? I could die tomorrow -- and I just might in that sun on the beach! -- but things are nice now!
